Theseus in the Labyrinth
With Ariadne's help, Theseus slew the Minotaur and emerged unharmed from the labyrinth of King Minos. In this manner, he brought an end to the annual tribute paid to the Cretan King--seven Athenian boys and seven Athenian girls who would otherwise have been fed to the horrible monster!
