Download Prelude (3.5 MB)

This Prelude, in the minor mode, is a darkly pensive movement, plaintively evoking the psychological unrest that has long characterized the human condition. The flute carries the melody line, supported by a continuous, quietly agitated guitar accompaniment in which the tonic is emphasized through long pedal tones.
