"In the Beginning," for Solo Flute

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

This work is a transcription of John 1:1 from English into Chromatic-One (C-1), a unique tonal language invented by the composer that enables all texts written in the Roman alphabet to be recited on musical instruments of definite pitch. Virtually all parameters of performance except pitch are left to the interpretive discretion of the individual speaker/performer. The accompanying MIDI file represents but one possible interpretation.
