This setting of "Ave Maria" was composed in memory of the late Jean J. Spalding by her daughter, Catherine. A professional couturière and embroiderer as well as a gifted composer, Catherine resides in rural Vermont where she enjoys a close relationship with the natural world and pratices the ancient arts and crafts of the Wiccan faith.

"Ave Maria," originally written for soprano, is sung here in a transposed version for alto by David Warin Solomons.
